Transition to Sixth Form
Each Faculty has prepared ‘bridging work’ to help Sixth Form applicants with preparation for Year 12 studies.
Work is provided for the subjects offered by the Sixth Form at A-Level and BTEC. The tasks will help prepare current Year 11 students for their learning in September.
If applicants have any subject specific questions regarding this work, then please contact the Head of Faculty who will be able to help. For our current Year 11 students, the work can be found in the following channel on Teams which all current Oxted School Year 11 students have access to: OXT Y11 Bridging, consolidation, and extension work
External applicants will be sent the Transition work by email for the subjects they are interested in.
The bridging work is for Year 11 students to work on between now and the start of Year 12 in early September. We hope applicants find the reading and tasks engaging. Students are likely to excel in some areas and get through this work faster than other topics, where they will spend more time developing skills and understanding.
As well as work for individual subjects, the Teams channel has a section to help with developing skills needed for higher level study. Click on the ‘Study Skills’ area to find out more about developing note taking skills and time management.
More information on Preparing for Sixth Form can be found in the 'Getting Ready for Oxted School Sixth Form' information sheet and the 'A to Z Guide for Sixth Form'.
